The Bighorn Stampede rumbles through Clearwater County this weekend (May 16-18).
The Foothills Cowboy Association’s opening event of 2025 is coming up from Friday through Sunday. The grounds are located five miles west of Caroline and then a half mile north on Highway 22. The event has been going strong for more than nine decades now.
Terry Pengelly, President of Ricinus Wooler Community Association, points out that Saturday is the big day with a packed agenda of events. He says “it will start off in town with the pancake breakfast followed by the parade and then it is off to the rodeo. We’ve got all of our events. We’ll have a trick rider to start the show off along with our drill team, full rodeo events and after that we’ll have entertainment in the beer gardens that night with Mike Larson & Friends playing us out Saturday night. ”
There is free admission for the rodeo slack on Friday at 3pm. Sunday includes the second and final full FCA rodeo performance at 12:30pm. Pengelly says free camping is available at the Bighorn Stampede with your paid admission, there is lots of space, and everyone is welcome.
