Birds versus Barons in opening round best-of-five playoff series

The Innisfail Eagles start their North Central Hockey League playoff run tonight.

The Birds finished up the regular season with a 4-3 home loss to the Lacombe Generals on Saturday, January 31st in Innisfail.

As a result, the Eagles wound up in second place in the league with a 12 and 4 record this season. They finished 2 points back of the first place Camrose Bruins.

The puck drops to start the postseason for Innisfail on Friday, February 6th at 8:30pm when they host Game 1 of a best-of-five series with the seventh place Devon Barons.

The Birds are trying to defend the Vanberg Cup title they won last season.
