Colts carry winning streak into playoffs, will meet Sylvan Lake in a best-of-five series

The Mountain View Colts are heading into the HJHL playoffs on an 11-game winning streak.

They shut out Strathmore 4-0 on Friday, January 30th at the Didsbury Memorial Complex in the annual Ride for Dad charity game, and more than $16,000 was raised for prostate cancer research and awareness.

The Colts beat the Copperheads 5-2 on Saturday in Coaldale and then they defeated the Cubs 4-3 in Medicine Hat on Sunday in the regular season finale.

Mountain View (27-9-0) finished tied with Red Deer for the most points in the league with 54 but the Vipers (26-8-2) win the North Division because they had more regulation wins this season. The Vipers had 26 while the Colts had 22.

The Heritage Junior Hockey League playoffs will start for the Colts the week of February 10th and the second place Colts will be matched up in a best-of-five series with the third place Sylvan Lake Wranglers (25-8-3).

Red Deer will face off with the winner of the best-of-three Division qualifier series between Airdrie (16-16-4) and Rocky (11-24-1). It starts with Game 1 on Tuesday, February 3rd when the Rams visit the Thunder.
