Annual general meeting for Cremona Community Hall Society on January 19

The Cremona Community Hall Society is inviting new volunteers to get involved.

Volunteer Coordinator Mary Thomson points out that the community and the Lions Club built the facility in 1976. Thomson says “we host all kinds of events for weddings, we have memorials, and exercise classes. We have meetings. We have a sound system and a video screen, so they can do power points. It is just a basic community centre.”

Thomson adds, they have ten volunteer members right now. She says “we’ve had a couple people due to circumstances who were wanting to step back for a bit, so we’re always looking for new help. Well, I enjoy being part of the community. I’ve been on the hall board for quite a number of years. It has always been an intricate part of the community and it seems that it is good to be involved.”

Anyone interested joining their group can attend their annual general meeting on Monday, January 19th at 7pm at the Cremona Hall.
