Olds Christmas Angels hard at work to bring festive cheer to all

The Christmas season is upon us and the Olds Christmas Angels are hard at work to ensure everyone has a happy and festive holiday season.

The Angels will be very active over the next couple of weeks, raising money and collecting toy donations help those less fortunate during what can be a stressful time of the year.

Claire Rosehill with the Christmas Angels, notes that they have once again teamed up with Emergency Services here in Olds for the annual boot drive outside of the fire department.

“The fire department and emergency services and all has always done a boot drive outside of the fire hall, which I’m sure you know about, and it’s a great fundraiser for the Christmas Angels as well.”

The Boot Drive will take place on Wednesday, December 3rd, and typically gets underway around noon.

Rosehill says the annual toy drive is quickly approaching as well.

“Our big fundraiser is always our toy drive. We will be in the parking lot of Canadian Tire as always, on December 12th this year, from 3 until 6 o’clock. All the angels will be there collecting toys and happily taking cash donations. We’ll have hot chocolate, some donuts and coffee, and the radio station will be there with us. It’s a great kind of ‘last push’ for us before we start getting hampers put together the following week.”

The Christmas Angels also have a 50/50 raffle ongoing until December 19th, you can buy tickets through their website.
