Big milestone anniversary bash coming up for Carstairs Elks on November 15

The Carstairs Elks are celebrating five decades of hard work.

They have contributed over 40,000 hours of help and have donated back in the neighbourhood of a million dollars to the community during the past 50 years, according to Carstairs Elks member Dave Senecal.

He says tickets are now available for their 50th anniversary celebration on November 15th at the Carstairs Community Hall. Senecal says “well there is a supper and a live band. The band is going to be The Plaiders. We are going to have a 50/50 draw and a silent auction with the proceeds of that to be split between Kirsten’s Place in Olds (the Mountain View Emergency Shelter Society building) and Every Kid Can Play. So it should be an evening of fun and fundraising.” Contact Dave at 403-818-6475 for tickets.

He says the Carstairs Elks currently have about 50 to 55 members which includes both men and women. They meet every second Wednesday of the month at the Community Hall in Carstairs. Check them out on Facebook here.
