BDC Small Business Week is October 19-25, Olds Chamber’s Small Business Awards Gala on October 23

A big month for small businesses is upon us.

Since 1979, the Business Development Bank of Canada has organized a national celebration of Canadian entrepreneurs and their contribution to the nation’s economy. BDC Small Business Week is coming up this month from October 19th through the 25th.

In the Town of Olds, the President of the Olds Chamber notes they will be doing a kick off breakfast for Small Business Week a little bit earlier on October 15th because of the 2025 Municipal General Election which is on October 20th. The breakfast will be at the Olds Golf Club. Doug Rieberger says “we’re going to have Dr. Debbie Thompson (President of Olds College of Agriculture & Technology) come and give us a little bit of an idea of what is happening within at the college and that right now.”

Rieberger highlights the fact that the annual Small Business Awards Gala will then follow on October 23rd at the Olds Royal Canadian Legion. He says “tickets are available. The tickets are $50, so it is still very affordable and they are available on our website or at the Olds Albertan.”

The website for tickets and more information about the Olds & District Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Week activities is OldsAlberta.com.
