Busy times at the Didsbury Museum

The Didsbury Museum continues to be a vibrant place for the community, with plenty going on during both the warmer and cooler months.

The Museum has enjoyed a busy summer already, with a host of different events including Canada Day bringing people by to explore some of the history in our area.

Dawn Stewart is Manager of the Didsbury Museum, she says they have seen a near record level of visits already.

“We’ve already had a very busy summer, and we’re looking forward to keeping that momentum going. If we’re right, it looks like we’re headed for another record-breaking year. We’re already close to last year’s numbers—which were a record—and it’s looking like we’ll be able to top that again.”

The Didsbury Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am until 4pm, visits typically take anywhere from 1 to 2 hours.

Stewart says they have a special event coming up to celebrate the kick off to the Didsbury Fair and Rodeo weekend, with the return of Tractors, Trains, and Teddy Bears.

“We’re inviting people to come out and see some antique tractors, enjoy a picnic on the grounds, and—weather permitting—we’ll have both the indoor and outdoor trains running that day. That’s all happening on Friday, August 15th, the day before the parade and the rodeo kickoff.”

Bring your Teddy Bear and set up your Teddy Bear Picnic Lunch outdoors at the Museum, the Mountain View Model Railroad Club will also be on hand.

Details for Tractors, Trains, and Teddy Bears or anything happening at the Didsbury Museum can be found on their Facebook page or through their website at Didsbury Musuem.ca
