Sundre Library enjoying a busy summer

The Sundre Municipal Library is enjoying a busy summer of programming and fun, according to manager Joy Willihnganz.

Willihnganz says there’s plenty happening with regular programs including the Summer Reading Club for 4 to 12 year olds every Tuesday afternoon, on Thursday there’s plenty for older kids including robotics and hands on activities.

Wild Wednesday’s include fun family outings, including a big one coming up later this month according to Willihnganz.

“We always have our Wednesday programs, which we call our Wild Wednesdays. This year, we’ve got a few different ones planned. On August 20th, we’re offering a police station tour that does require pre-registration. It’s a great opportunity for families to come together and take a tour of our local RCMP detachment to see what goes on behind the scenes.”

She asks that you do sign up ahead of time, find out details on the Library’s Facebook page or stop by to sign up.

Looking ahead, Willihnganz is excited about the return of a popular event in September.

“Comic-Con is back and we’ve actually been in planning mode for several months now. It’s happening on September 27th at the Olds Pomeroy Inn and Suites. Expect a wide variety of vendors, panels, cosplay, and more. Whether you’re into comics, movies, manga, or pop culture in general, there’s going to be something for everyone.”

Mountain View Comic Con runs September 27th from 10am-4pm at the Pomeroy Inn and Suites in Olds, you can volunteer to help run the event by filling out a form online.
