Lots happening at BGC Olds and Area this summer, fall plans already underway

BGC Olds and Area has a busy schedule of events throughout the summer months, offering an escape for kids off school.

Lauren MacMullen is Director of Youth, Family and Community Services at BGC, she says through the help of community partners they’ve been able to offer a wide array of camps and fun for kids.

“We have three summer camps this year. We’ve had lots of kids signing up and having fun. We partnered with FCSS and CLC summer camps this year, and we’ve been collaborating with them doing lots of activities like carnival day, swimming days — lots of fun like that. We’ve also got to partner with the Mountain View Moccasin House, Boston Pizza, Dairy Queen, and more. It’s shaping up to be one of our best summers.”

MacMullen says there are still drop in events happening and some limited room to sign up for remaining camps.

As we get set for the start of August, plans are fully underway for fall programming at BGC. MacMullen says their youth centre “The Zone” will be hosting plenty of fall activities.

“They’ll have all of their stuff starting up that second week in September. They’ll have lots of programs for the youth and everything like that, and then Jungle Junction starts their after-school programs. Of course, we have our annual Haunted House coming up in October, so watch for all the details for that as well.”
