The Innisfail Farmers Market runs each year from May until September on Thursdays at the Innisfail Royal Canadian Legion.
Market Manager Shannon Noirot highlights the fact that this Thursday they will be celebrating their 65th anniversary. She says “based off of some strategic looking through some of the old historical newspaper records, 1960 was the earliest that we found when they started a consistent market that happened in Innisfail on the same days the auction mart would have their auction.”
She notes that they will have all of their vendors donating gifts or products to be able to put into gift baskets. Noirot says “we’re hoping we can get at least two or three together. So every time someone comes into the market, we are going to have big draw basket at the front desk and they can put their name and their phone number on a slip. Once we put it in towards the end of the day and if they are not present we will give them a shout and tell them where they can pick up their gift baskets.”
The 65th anniversary celebrations for the Innisfail Farmers Market are coming up tomorrow from 10 until 1pm a the Innisfail Legion. Visit the Innisfail Farmers Market – Innisfail, AB Facebook page for more details.
