Pro rodeo, cabarets and much more in Bowden this weekend

Bowden’s big weekend is here.

Keith Bailey, President of the Bowden Ag Society and Rodeo, points out that now that the Canadian Pro Rodeo Association is involved it has taken Bowden Daze to the next level. He says “it’s our 30th year of having a rodeo and it’s our fourth year of having a straight pro rodeo. A few years before that we had a pro bareback riding but about four years ago we moved to a pro rodeo and it’s fantastic. It brings a whole new atmosphere of rodeo competitors and it brings a lot of excitement to the Town of Bowden, so we’re really excited for it.”

The Bowden Daze Pro rodeo begins tonight at 6:30 p.m. However that’s not all, Bailey notes there is plenty of entertainment as well. He says “we have two cabaret nights. Friday night features Beamer Wigley. He is an up and comer, country music star. Saturday night Alicia Aichelle, she is coming. So that will be a really good show in itself. There is so much to do down around the grounds.”

Tomorrow’s full line up of events in the Town of Bowden features a pancake breakfast at the arena at 8am, the parade at 11, Fortis serving free smokies at the arena at 1pm. Night 2 of the rodeo on Saturday is also at 6:30. The third and final performance is Sunday at 12:30. Bailey says Sunday is family day and they will be giving away two bicycles in a kids draw.
