AJHL unveils 2025-2026 schedule, Grizzlys home opener September 20 vs Camrose

The Olds Grizzlys will hit the ice to begin the 2025-2026 Alberta Junior Hockey League regular season on September 19th in Drayton Valley.

The home opener at the Olds SportsComplex for the Black & Gold will be the next night – September 20th – versus the Camrose Kodiaks.

The 54 game regular season will conclude for Olds with a four-game road trip in March. It will finish up with stops in Canmore on March 13th and Calgary on March 14th.

The Grizzlys will gear up for the regular season by playing five exhibition contests. The first is in Calgary on August 30th and the final one will be in Olds against Drumheller on September 13th.

The 2024-2025 campaign saw Olds finish in second last overall with 31 points (15-38-1). The Grizzlys were one of four AJHL clubs that missed the playoffs last season.

However, the local AJHL team heads into this season with renewed optimism after the introduction of Moe Jamal as the new Owner and General Manager. He comes to the Grizzlys from the Calgary International Hockey Academy (CIHA) where he worked alongside former National Hockey Leaguer and Stanley Cup champion Jay Beagle. Jamal says he will be the principal owner of the Grizzlys and they’ll have a minority sharing with Beagle.

The new bench boss for Olds is Tyson Soloski. The 32-year-old from Cochrane was most recently the Head Coach of the U18 Prep team at the Calgary International Hockey Academy in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL).
