Community members can acquire some great items and support Greenwood Neighbourhood Place at the same time this weekend.
Kim Free with GNP passes along some numbers about their impact in the community which included The Den – their youth drop in centre – has had more than 1,500 sign ins this year from over 200 different youth. She says “the people who rely on us often know we’re here but they might not be in a position to give. On the other hand, people who could support us might not realize how much we offer, That is why sharing stories, data, and events like this are so important to raise awareness.”
She notes their second annual fundraising auction is set for Saturday, May 31st. Doors open at 6pm at the Sundre Legion and they have added a fun new feature to it. Free says “this year we are introducing the ‘golden bell’. The winning bidder gets the power to ring it and instantly claim the items that they want – no matter what other bids are on the table. It adds a fun twist to the evening.” The auction begins at 7 o’clock.
