Lassoing good times for seven decades: Foothills Cowboy Association set for milestone season

The chutes open to start the 2025 season for the Foothills Cowboy Association this weekend with the Caroline Bighorn Stampede (May 16-18).

Andy Hall, FCA President, highlights the fact that this is the 70th anniversary for their grass roots rodeo association. He says “a lot of families were involved in starting it – and still are. We are proud to still have those families as members of our association still today.”

According to Hall, the FCA campaign will include a total of six tour stops in such places as Caroline, Water Valley, Crossfield, Dogpound, Didsbury, and Cochrane. The FCA Finals are back after a couple of years away and Hall notes the season ending event will be held in High River during the last week in September.

The FCA also has three major partners for other sanctioned rodeo events around the province. They are the Wildrose Rodeo Association, the Lakeland Rodeo Association, and the Chinook Rodeo Association.

The full calendar for the 2025 season is available on the website FCARodeo.ca and you can find more details about this weekend’s event by visiting the Caroline Bighorn Stampede Facebook page.
