Numerous communities in Olds region offering spring cleaning options for household, RV waste

Spring has sprung, so that means it’s officially time to get cleaning.

Thankfully for any last minute spring cleaners, the Towns of Innisfail, Sundre, and Didsbury have opened up several options for you to dust off the last bits of winter and welcome in the warm season.

This year, the Town of Innisfail has partnered with the Alberta Recycling Management Authority to bring back the Household Hazardous Waste Round-Up program for 2025. Item collection will take place on May 28th, and May 31st from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Innisfail Waste Transfer Station.

On these days, residents can drop off their hazardous household materials not typically collected at the Waste Transfer Station like pesticides, bleach, fire extinguishers, drain cleaners, and others.

Additionally, for anyone with road trip plans in the summer, the RV sanitation dumps in Didsbury and Innisfail have officially opened for the season. In Innisfail, the facility will remain open until mid-October.

In Sundre, Kick it to the Curb is back, with events scheduled for the weekends of May 31st, June 28th, July 19th, August 23rd, and September 13th, when residents can place their unwanted items outside at the front of their yard with a “free” note attached for neighbours to bring home.
