Mountain View County chooses Bergen Community Hall as host for 2025 Canada Day Pancake Breakfast

Mountain View County has officially made their pick for the 2025 Canada Day Pancake Breakfast.

The annual Canada Day Pancake Breakfast is held every year on the Friday before the big day, and this year, Bergen residents will have the chance to play host for the first time at their Community Hall.

Council arrived at their decision after Administration provided them with a list of options that have been utilized in the past, along with some never before seen options too. Two front runners jumped out- Bergen Community Hall, and Water Valley Community Hall; however, due to facility availability, and Reeve Angela Aalbers pointing out that Bergen has yet to host the event since its inception in 2017, the decision was a natural one.

“We’ve never done it at the Bergen Community Hall, so that’s a nice idea,” Aalbers says. “The facilities at Bergen Hall are very similar to the Eagle Hill Community Hall that we were at a couple of year’s back.”

Councillor Jennifer Lutz, who made the motion, adds that hosting the breakfast in Bergen is another way County Council can connect with the community.

“It’s just another touchpoint with Bergen residents, so I think that would be a good way to reach out again,” she says.

This year’s pancake breakfast is scheduled for June 27th and is free for all county ratepayers to attend.
