The Olds Health Care Fundraising Committee has been around since about 2015 and it is overseen by the Wetaskiwin Health Foundation.
Chair person Barry McCurdy highlights the fact that the committee has 11 volunteer members in Olds from all different aspects of the community. He says “we go into the community, the hospital, we also work with different aspects of the community such as home care, public health and we look for what’s required that would be enhancing the quality of patients, the quality of the practitioners and also stuff like youth as well. It’s just a blanket of stuff that we do here.”
You can help the committee’s fundraising efforts by kicking up your heels at a Barn Dance coming up on Saturday (May 10th) at the Olds College Alumni Centre. It will have music, line dancing, door prizes, auction items, raffles, and more.
McCurdy hopes they can have 150 to 250 people attend. Get your tickets online by Googling the Olds Health Care Fundraising Committee.
The 2025/2026 Hospital Capital Project is focusing on the Seniors Care Campaign and McCurdy says their budget to raise this year is $250,000.
