Canadians stormed the ballot boxes for the 2025 federal election.
Voter turnout was up by six per cent nationally from 62.6 in 2021 to 68.64 this time around.
Albertans nearly made it to 70 per cent. According to Elections Canada, this province was at 69.78 per cent. Those numbers do not include electors who registered on election day.
Alberta was fifth among all of the provinces and territories. Prince Edward Island was first with 77.28 per cent voter turnout. Nunavut was last at just 36.81 per cent.
Locally the polls showed there was over 76 per cent voter turnout in Ponoka-Didsbury constituency (76.02), plus nearly 75 per cent in both the Yellowhead (74.78) and Airdrie-Cochrane (74.92) ridings.
