Business networking event showcases excitement, promise for rapid growth this year in Didsbury

Business networking as well as a chance to hear updates from the Town of Didsbury’s Economic Development Department brought community members to the Ol’Berta Grill House & Bar Room last week.

Alexandra Ross, Economic Development Officer and Strategic Operations Coordinator for the Town of Didsbury, played a couple of videos for those in attendance that the Town has had made. She let those in attendance know that one video was for showcasing the quality of life in the community and the other was for developers as well as businesses/investors who would like purchase land to build in Didsbury. She says “we are sending those videos out to investors directly. We have a lot of interest there. They can be seen on our website. We also distribute them via our social media.”

The business networking event also included updates on development permits in the Town of Didsbury which were up to 82 last year as compared to 64 in 2023. Ross says “we have our commercial area that just got developed in Shantz (Village). We have a lot of new buildings that need to be filled. You can always contact me at the Town of Didsbury at [email protected] if you are inquiring or you can also go on our website and see all of the things that are available – the opportunities that are available.”

Ross notes that about 200 residential units are coming on stream this year providing the opportunity for about 600 people to move to Didsbury.

Check out the Economic Development section of the Didsbury.ca website for more details or to view the videos.

Ross points out that the event on Tuesday, March 7th featured the biggest turnout that Didsbury’s Ec Dev Department has had for any of its networking events with nearly 40 members of the local business community showing up for it.
