Winners celebrated at sold out 2025 Mountain View and Neighbours Women In Business Awards Luncheon

Ahead of International Women’s Day (IWD), a special event was held at the Pomeroy Inn & Suites in Olds last Friday.

The second annual Mountain View and Neighbours Women In Business Awards Luncheon recognized the amazing women in the counties of Mountain View, Kneehill, Clearwater and the Towns and Villages within those counties. Outstanding nominees were highlighted in a total of six award categories.

Stacey Stilling with Mountain View Seniors’ Housing was the winner in the Women of Influence category. She says “being a Women of Influence doesn’t come without being able to be influenced yourself. So everyone who has influenced me over the years – I have a phenomenal family, friends, the ladies that I am fortunate to work with, my board of directors is just second to none, our residents, our front line staff. That’s why you do what you do. You know, to be a great leader you also have to be a great follower, and you have to know when to step forward and when to step back and let other people take the reigns and take the lead on those things and support them all the way through. So I am just so grateful to be able to do it.”

Lisa Nicholson with the Hope 4 MVC Kids Society was the winner in the Women In Business – Not for Profit category.

Rebecca Henderson with Collegiate Sports Medicine was the winner in the Women In Business – For Profit category.

Tietsia Huyzer with Huntcliff Dairy was the winner in the Women in Agriculture category.

Jennifer Shillam with Fortis Energy was the winner in the Women in Energy category.

Dawn Stewart with the Didsbury & District Historical Society was the winner in the Women in Hospitality and Tourism category. She says “I’m feeling really proud of my team. They were the ones who nominated me. They successfully kept it a secret, which was pretty exciting and they were extremely proud to come out today and support me and just show how much they are behind me and that’s an incredible feeling. So, I’m very lucky.”

IWD for 2025 took place on Saturday, March 8th.
