Mounties are advising the public to avoid travel if possible.
As of 5:45pm on Wednesday (January 23rd), road conditions in southern Alberta were listed by RMCP as “extremely bad.”
Areas to note in particular included in and around Olds, Bowden along with from Airdrie to Red Deer.
Police are reporting “black ice conditions along the highways with severe wind. These road conditions will impact the ability to stop in short distances. Drivers are asked to be cautious and slow to appropriate speeds on the highway.”
