SPOG’s annual Neighours Day Trade Fair and Expo is set for later this week.
Head to the Sundre Arena between 8am and 3pm on August 22nd for a pancake breakfast, live music, a Sundre Fire Department Demo, a beef on a bun lunch, and more.
Tracey McCrimmon, Executive Director with the Sundre Petroleum Operators Group, explains more about SPOG. She says “SPOG is a synergy group and also a mutual aid emergency response organization that acts as a liaison between the oil and gas industry, community, government and regulators.”
The theme for the 2025 edition of Neighbours Day is water. McCrimmon says “there is a lot of concern and conversation going on with regards to water and water usage by different stakeholders, and so that will be a big focus for our industry members for sure for this year.”
Find out more about Neighbours Day on the SPOG website. This is also the Bulls and Wagons weekend at the Sundre Rodeo Grounds, so Neighbours Day helps to kick off a big few days around the Town of Sundre.
McCrimmon adds, they will have have a great turnout of over 60 booths for this year’s trade fair as part of Neighbours Day on Friday. She says “SPOG is a multi-stakeholder group, so this is an opportunity for community to come and engage with their industry neighbours and also have the oil and gas service sector to come and also engage with our community members. It is great way for local businesses to come and show what they have to the community.”
