Town of Sundre hosting open house to discuss wastewater treatment facility upgrades

The Town of Sundre is inviting residents to an Open House on Thursday, August 21st, to learn more about upgrades to its Wastewater Treatment Facility.

The Town has applied to Alberta Environment and Protected Areas for the renewal of its operating approval, and is working in partnership with Alberta Environment and Soneera Water Canada on new advanced treatment technology.

The Open House will include information on the new technology used and a tour of the Pilot Demo unit used throughout the Pilot Testing period.

It will take place at Council Chambers and will be offered at three times throughout the day to accommodate working schedules. The first session is from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m, followed by another from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. An evening open house will run from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.

Attendees can tour the pilot demonstration unit used during testing, and learn more about upgraded systems including filtration, UV disinfection, and sludge treatment.

More information is available from the Town of Sundre website.
