Arson in Raspberry Park under investigation by Innisfail RCMP

No injuries or damage to property is being reported, but police and fire crews responded to a bush fire on Sunday.

It happened just after 3:30pm on June 8th in Raspberry Park and Innisfail RCMP say “the fires were lit in numerous locations within the wooded area and are believed to be intentionally set.” The Innisfail Fire Department was able to put them out.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Innisfail RCMP Detachment at 403-227-3341 or CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

Innisfail RCMP also add that “the intentional lighting of fires poses a significant risk to public safety and the safety of our community. Uncontrolled fires along with current dry conditions can be catastrophic for a community.”
