Farmers markets sprout up across Mountain View County

Farmers markets are back for the season around the Olds area.

Mountain View County is encouraging you to check out one of the almost half-dozen markets on the schedule for this summer.

The Olds Farmers Market kicked off its open season with an evening of fresh produce, handmade gifts, and baked treats at the Cow Palace. Don’t worry if you missed it though – the market will return every Thursday of the summer from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

In Sundre, the annual Sundre Farmers Market made its return on May 30th, offering attendees the chance to get their hands on the early season’s freshest produce, baked goods, preserves, and other local goodies. The Sundre market will be held every Friday until September 19th from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Sundre Curling Rink.

It’s been a while for Bergen residents looking for farm fresh goodies, with the last market being held during the Thanksgiving season; however, if turkeys didn’t tickle your fancy, the summertime market will return on June 28th, and will be held every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Bergen Community Hall.

Elsewhere in the County, the Cremona Farmers Market has been underway since May 19th – to be held every Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the main road through Cremona until October 18th. In Didsbury, the market will return on July 2nd, and is scheduled to take place every Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Lutheran Church.
