COPA For Kids is once again allowing youth from the ages of 8 to 19 to spread their wings and discover aviation.
Edward Shaw with the Olds-Didsbury Flying Association says they fly the youth for free as part of the national program for the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association. Shaw says “the purpose of it is to introduce aviation to youth. To get them involved as an interest, maybe get in a career in the different parts of aviation and just the flight experience.”
The COPA For Kids event is coming up this Saturday, May 31st at the Olds-Didsbury Airport. He says “owner of the airport, the County of Mountain View has graciously accepted to donate some fuel again to the aircraft. The flying (association) members will supply their planes and certified pilots will fly the youth for about a 20 minute flight.”
