Both players from Olds score in championship game, Red Deer Rebels claim U15 AAA provincial title

The U15 AAA provincial banner was claimed by the Red Deer Rebels on Sunday.

As the host team for the Hockey Alberta tournament at the Servus Arena, Red Deer rolled to the championship by going 4-1 overall during the provincial competition.

Madden Daneault from Red Deer led the Rebels at provincials with 5 goals and 9 points. Jaxon Jaffray from Olds had 3 goals and 5 points, while fellow Olds product Noah Ulry had 3 goals and 4 points.

The Rebels turned out the lights on the Calgary Northstars in Sunday’s final winning by the score of 4-1. Jaffray and Ulry both scored in the final, while Daneault had a pair of goals plus and assist.

The victory in the final got them a bit of revenge after their lone loss during round robin play had come against the Northstars. Calgary beat Red Deer 6-3 on Saturday.
