Red Deer RCMP warn online shoppers about fraudulent websites

Mounties are sending out a reminder to online shoppers to verify the website address before providing personal or financial information.

Red Deer RCMP have been notified of fraudulent websites and social pages posing as the legitimate business, Peavey Mart.

Police say “these fraudulent websites claim to offer an online store for purchasing items” when the real Peavey Mart does not operate an online store.

Anyone who feels they may have been a victim of this fraudulent website or any other fraud can contact their local RCMP detachment or the Canadian anti-fraud centre.
