The annual CWL garage sale was a giant success again this year.
It was held on Friday, January 24th and Saturday, January 25th at St. Stephen’s Parish in Olds.
Judy Wahlstrom with St. Stephen’s Catholic Women’s League (CWL) highlights the fact that they had an absolutely amazing turnout. She says “the line up on Friday morning is always very heartwarming. To see all of those people who are dedicated garage sale, ‘die hards’ I guess you’d call them. They come out regularly year after year from Red Deer, and Calgary, and Rocky Mountain House, and all of the areas in between, and of course our local ‘die hards’ from Olds itself.”
Wahlstrom notes they didn’t have as much furniture as they normally have, so they were down a little bit this year but she still notes that it was a great response from the community. She says “all of the many people that helped all week long. The people that donated all of the things that go into the garage sale. Not just from our Parish at St. Stephens, but the many people from all across town and the radio station – thank you so much for all the support that you give us. It’s amazing.”
The CWL will use the several thousand dollars that was raised to support their kitchen, as well as charities including ones in Olds.
