Second-degree murder charge laid following homicide at Edmonton Corn Maze

A charge has been laid in connection with the murder of a man this week at the Edmonton Corn Maze.

Just after 7pm on Tuesday (August 27th), Parkland RCMP received a report of a stabbing that occurred at the facility. It is located on Highway 627 near Spruce Grove.

An adult victim, who has since been identified as 53-year-old Joseph Farnsworth, was located deceased by police.

The suspect remained on scene and was taken into custody. Alberta RCMP advise the public that this attack involved two guests to the Edmonton Corn Maze who knew one another.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit was dispatched to the area to continue the investigation.

Mounties charged 41-year-old Michael George Ferzli with second-degree murder on Wednesday (August 28th). He has been remanded into custody and is set to appear in court in Stony Plain on September 4th.
