Alberta Spending On Preservation Of Heritage

The Government of Alberta is committing to the preservation of the province’s history, by investing $1.7 million into heritage conservation and awareness.

A news release from the province outlines that the money will be directed through the Heritage Preservation Partnership Program, which in turn provides funds to projects that preserve Alberta’s unique history.

In total, 85 grants were distributed across the province to individuals and organizations that are working to preserve, promote and protect the province’s stories and heritage.

Tanya Fir, Alberta’s Minister of Arts, Culture and Status of Women, is quoted in the news release saying “these investments in our heritage will not only deepen our understanding of our shared identity, but help tell our stories for generations to come.”
