Essentials for our Community Didsbury is making sure everyone has a full plate of food to eat this Thanksgiving.
Cary Funk, Food Manager with Essentials, notes that Remax Rocky View Real Estate – Dan Peters, Sandra Leatherdale, and Cori Busby – is sponsoring their Thanksgiving turkey dinner with all the trimmings this Thursday at 5:30pm at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Didsbury.
According to Funk, Essentials for our Community provides food security for people throughout the year along with a place for connection for those who are going through different experiences in their lives. Funk says “we do provide a Thursday night market of some fresh groceries which are donated by various people in the community. Everyone from some of the local grocery stores to people donating produce from their gardens. We also have a few people that will provide us with donations of food bank type items that we can offer about once a month that help top up people that might need that little extra to make it through.”
She adds, anyone interested in volunteering to help out with this Thursday’s Thanksgiving dinner or in future weeks with meal prep, serving or clean up can reach out to them via the Essentials for our Community Didsbury Facebook page or by calling 403-586-5836.
