This week’s Lammle’s Western Wear’s New Music Monday spotlight is on Pittsburg, Texas native Koe Wetzel. From the time he was born, Koe Wetzel has been associated with the outlaw country genre whether he knew it at the time or not. Koe’s parents named him after singer/songwriter and country music legend David Allan Coe. His father worked in construction and his mother was a touring musician. Koe himself was six years old the first time he performed on stage but pursued a football career after high school. He was a linebacker for Tarleton State University in Texas. But after a little while decided that music was the place to be and quickly took to songwriting and performing
Koe Wetzel’s musical debut came in the form a self-released EP in 2015 and it quickly became popular among the college crowds. His next releases appeared fairly quickly in 2016 and 2019. After his third album he was signed to Columbia Records and he would find himself in the Top 40 quite consistently. For his latest single he has teamed up with Country Music’s latest IT girl, musical sensation Ella Langley for a song called “Jaded” and it is our feature today on Lammle’s Western Wear New Music Monday.
