Hit a funding grand slam by making your best pitch to Rotary Dragon’s Den

The Rotary Club of Olds has a handful of community groups or clubs that have applied for its third annual Dragons Den event but there is still time for more to get in on the fun.

Steve Turner with the Rotary Club notes that they will hand out awards of up to $2,500 to successful applicants who make a great pitch to them next month. He says “so we are looking for groups that can provide or have an activity or project that is going to benefit the community within and around the Town of Olds, particularly. We’re looking for things that align with some of the Rotary pillers, if you will, related to health, and community engagement, and community development, in particular around our community.”

Turner hopes that they can get 6 to 8 community groups or clubs to apply for their Dragon’s Den. Turner says “so Hope 4 Mountain View Kids was with us last year. We partnered with them again this fall to support their society. So there is a good example. One of the groups was the Guardian helmets for the Olds Spartans. The practice padded helmets that they use to prevent concussions while they are practicing for their football games. So those are two easy examples.” There is a link on the Rotary Club of Olds Facebook page and the deadline is February 16th.

The 2026 edition of Rotary Dragon’s Den will be held at the Olds Air Cadet Hall at 5205 52nd Street from 7-9pm on March 12th.
