Boil water advisory expected to remain in effect until early next week

An Alberta Emergency Alert has been issued informing resident of the Town of Penhold about a boil water advisory.

The Town anticipates the advisory will remain in effect until early next week and it is for all Penhold residents and businesses south of Minto Street. A map showing the impacted areas is posted below this story.

To lift the advisory, water quality testing will need to confirm there is no contamination resulting from low fluctuation in the chlorine level.

Instructions for residents and businesses include bringing your water to a rolling boil “for at least one minute prior to using it for domestic purposes, including but not limited to, drinking, making infant formula and juices, brushing teeth, washing raw foods and making ice.” The myhealth.alberta.ca has further details about using water at home during a boil water advisory.

Town of Penhold officials point out that this advisory is being issued as a precautionary measure until further notice and updates will continue to be provided on the Town’s Facebook page as well as its website.
