Community members can meet up with the Didsbury Fire Department, ask questions, have coffee and donuts, and more next week.
Didsbury Fire Chief Curtis Mousseau highlights the fact that they have bumped their annual open house back by a week due to some scheduling conflicts with some of their members, so it will be held Wednesday, October 15th from 5pm until 8 o’clock. He says “you know it is great, we look forward to it every year. Obviously we circle fire prevention week on our calendar, each and every year but it is great for the members and the public to get to know one another. The public to see the people in their community who are answering the call and coming to them in their time of need. Yeah, we are very proud to show off our tools and equipment that we use to help them out.”
Fire Prevention Week continues until tomorrow and Mousseau says this year’s theme is “charge into safety” with a focus on lithium-ion batteries in your home.
He adds, people are asked to buy products with the appropriate standards, charge the devices safely, and don’t dispose of lithium-ion batteries by throwing them away in the trash or the regular recycling bins but to recycle them responsibly.
