Rimbey RCMP trying to rein in thief, locate stolen horse

Mounties aren’t horsing around as an equine theft investigation continues.

A warrant has been issued for a Ponoka County resident. The investigation for Rimbey RCMP began on June 21st and police say the 28-year-old woman is refusing to return the horse, will not tell police where it is, and is the process of selling it. She is being charged with theft of cattle over $5,000.

The horse is named Hank and RCMP are advising that if you are in possession of Hank you are committing the offence of possessing stolen property over $5,000.

Police would like to locate the horse and return him to his rightful owner. Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the 28-year-old Ponoka County resident or Hank the horse can contact the Rimbey RCMP detachment or CRIMESTOPPERS.
