When residents go online to Olds.ca this week they will notice a few changes.
The Town of Olds launched its new website on Wednesday morning and Jillian Toellner – Supervisor of Communications and Engagement – points out that they decided to do it now because the technology the old website was on was no longer being supported, so they thought it was a great opportunity to improve how the Town connects with residents. She says “any old bookmark or things that they have set from the old site, it should connect directly to the new site. We do have the opportunity to provide feedback on every page. So if something is missing or something is not working like you expected or if a resident can’t find what they are looking for then if you use that feedback form, we’ll get it in the communications department and we’ll reach out and make some changes.”
She says they have been working on the new website for about a year now and it is the first major update to the Town’s site since 2018.
Toellner adds, the biggest change that people will notice is that the search function is a lot easier, so they will be able to find things that they need day-to-day more easily. Residents should also find that things are more clearly laid out, so it is a little bit more intuitive which makes it easier to find things.
