The World Professional Chuckwagon Association races at the Ponoka Stampede are underway and Chance Vigen from Calgary started out by setting a new track record.
Vigen clocked in at 1:11.75 in his McWilliam Automotive & CBI Solar outfit in Heat 4.
The 41-year-old Vigen beat the previous Ponoka track record of 1:12.19 set by Luke Tournier from Duck Lake, Saskatchewan in 2014.
Rounding out the top four last night in Ponoka were Chad Fike from Cremona in his Tomco Group of Companies outfit (1:13.85), Kurt Bensmiller from Dewberry in his Versatile Energy Services Ltd. wagon (1:14.18), and D.J. King from Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan in his Debs Cabs outfit (1:14.24).
