Chance Flad fights through the mud to grab the lead in Wainwright

The World Professional Chuckwagon Association action at the Wainwright Stampede was slowed down by wet weather on Saturday, June 21st.

The fast time of the night was over two seconds slower on Saturday then it was on Friday.

Kurt Bensmiller from Dewberry was quickest on the significantly slower track with a 1:06.35 in his Top Grade Construction Ltd. wagon. Jamie Laboucane from St. Walburg, Saskatchewan had set the pace in his Wild Rows Pump & Compression Ltd. outfit on the opening night with a 1:04.14.

Arrowwood’s Chance Flad his Hall & Company Professional Chartered Accountants outfit was second with a 1:06.83 and Kris Molle from Chauvin in his Benoit Oilfield Construction (1997) Ltb. chuckwagon was the only other to get around in under 1:07.00. Molle was third with a 1:06.92.

Chance Flad has moved to the top of the aggregate standings with a two-day total time of 2:11.16. Flad is followed by Kris Molle with a 2:11.64, High River’s Jason Glass in his Birchcliff Energy Ltd. outfit with a 2:12.37, Evan Salmond from Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan in his De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Ltd wagon with a 2:12.42, and Kurt Bensmiller with a 2:13.24.

96.5 The Ranch is the radio broadcast home for the 2025 WPCA Pro Tour and the final evening of racing from the Wainwright Stampede can be heard at 4:45 p.m. on Sunday, June 22nd.
