Caroline products shine at 91st Bighorn Stampede

Local cowboys and cowgirls put on quite a show for the fans in attendance at the first Foothills Cowboy Association event of the season.

Over the Victoria Day long weekend, the Caroline Bighorn Stampede kicked off the 2025 FCA calendar with action from Friday through Sunday (May 16-18).

The three of the winners were from the village of Caroline with the tandem of Brodie McBride and Justin Buhler getting the job done in 8.5 seconds in team roping, Katelyn Willsie posting a time of 3.16 seconds in ladies breakaway roping, and Danika Scott stopping the clock at 18.041 seconds in junior barrel racing.

Other unofficial winners from the Bighorn Stampede included Reid Gustafson from Crossfield in saddle bronc, Elaina Black from Crossfield in ladies barrels, Brynlee Lunde from Sundre in pee wee barrels, Kane Scott from Condor in bull riding, Charlie Guinn from Banff in ranch broncs, Rylan Ditchuk from Leslieville in junior steer riding, and Stetson Whitney from Tsuut’ina Nation in junior bull riding.

Blake Zieffle from Castor was the winner in both tie down roping and steer wrestling.

Jace Lomheim from Hughenden and Clay Greenslade from Strathmore tied for top spot in bareback.

The next two FCA rodeos are coming up next month with the Water Valley Stampede on June 7th and 8th, ahead of Pete Knight Days in Crossfield on June 13th and 14th.
