The Mountain View Museum and Archives is looking for Olds to grow with them this International Museum Day.
On May 17th, residents are invited to attend Mountain View Museum’s “Grow With Us” event to celebrate and learn about the region’s history, while supporting the museum and the spirit of springtime.
“We’ve named the day ‘Grow With Us,’ because we want the museum to grow, so we are asking you to dig up your perennials, bring us pieces of your perennials, and come in and trade with other people,” Museum Manager Chantal Marchildon says. “We always have a bunch of lovely perennials, different colours, different sizes.”
“There will be pots, plants for sale, plants to exchange, all kinds of good stuff, we might even make some dandelion tisane.”
Marchildon adds that International Museum Day has seen a fairly slow adoption in Olds, but with the annual event growing every year, she is hopeful even more residents will find some time to celebrate this year.
“Hopefully we can build on that, I’ve been building on it for a few years now, so hopefully people are more aware this year as we carry on with Grow With Us,” she says.
The Grow With Us event is scheduled for May 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Mountain View Museum Educational Centre.
