Mountain View Colts Host Big Northern Division Games This Weekend

The Mountain View Colts are back in action tonight as the Heritage Junior Hockey League schedule resumes, with the first of 2 big Northern Division games at the Didsbury Memorial Complex this weekend.

Mountain View will welcome the Red Deer Vipers on Friday night, before getting ready with a showdown with the Sylvan Lake Wranglers on Saturday.

The Colts are looking for their 3rd straight win, Mountain View defeated Ponoka 7-0 on home ice and won a overtime thriller by a score of 3-2 on Saturday against the Airdrie Thunder.

Mountain View is (9-10-1) and with 19 points are 4th in the HJHL’s Northern Division.

The Vipers enter tonight’s contest 2nd in the division with a record of (10-10-1) and 21 points, Airdrie is currently 3rd with 20 points heading into the weekend.

Sylvan Lake is running away with 1st in the Northern Division, and in the HJHL, holding a record of (19-1-0) with 38 points. The Wranglers only loss came at the hands of the Mountain View Colts back on September 28th, when the blue and red escaped the Nexsource Centre with a 2-1 regulation victory.

Tonight is a special Hope For Mountain View Kids game night at the Didsbury Memorial Complex, the local charity has teamed up with the Colts to bring some fun and games to the Corral. All 50/50 proceeds tonight will go to H4MVK, along with proceeds from the sucker pull. Puck drop tonight for the Colts vs Vipers game is 8pm.

Saturday night’s game between the Colts and Sylvan Lake Wranglers will be broadcast on 96.5 CKFM, join the pregame show getting underway at 7:55pm.
